Modern Buddhism, the Path of Compassion and Wisdom - Practising the Union of Sutra and Tantra in Daily Life

Week 1 Part One - Sutra, with Refuge & Bodhisattva Vow Ceremony

July 13 - 20 with Genla Kelsang Kunsang

In the first week, Genla Kunsang will teach the common paths of Kadampa Lamrim from Part One of the book Modern Buddhism - Sutra. She will explain the three principal paths of renunciation, the supreme good heart of bodhichitta, and the correct view of emptiness - and how to train in the Bodhisattva's way of life.

There will be an opportunity to join with our Kadampa family in a special ceremony for receiving refuge and Bodhisattva vows. Part one of the Festival begins on the evening of Friday 13th and finishes on the following Friday evening (20th).

Week 2 Part Two - Tantra, with empowerment of Je Tsongkhapa, the Wisdom Buddha

July 22 - 28 with Genla Kelsang Dekyong

In the second week, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong will teach the uncommon paths of Kadam Lamrim from Part Two of the book Modern Buddhism - Tantra. She will explain how, by relying upon our Spiritual Guide, Guru Tsongkhapa, and using the special technology of practising the union of Sutra and Tantra in our daily lives, we can purify our mind of ordinary appearance and attain enlightenment quickly and easily. Part two of the Festival begins on the morning of sunday 22nd and finishes on the following Saturday (28th) at lunchtime after the Festival play.
