About Buddhism

Buddha and Buddhism
Buddha Shakyamuni was the founder of Buddhism. He lived about twenty five hundred years ago and taught in India. Since then, millions of people around the world have followed the pure spiritual path that he discovered.
Buddha taught that all our problems and suffering come from confused and negative states of mind; our welfare and happiness arise from peaceful and positive states of mind.
Lasting peace and happiness
He taught methods for gradually overcoming mental states such as anger, jealousy and ignorance and to develop positive mental states, such as love, compassion and wisdom. By these methods we will experience lasting peace and happiness.
The methods work for everyone independent of nationality and age. With our positive experience, we can share with others so that they can enjoy the same benefits.
The Buddhist way of life - peace, loving kindness and wisdom - is as relevant today as when Buddha appeared in the India so long ago.
